Reconciliation

As we claim in our mission statement, we have been given a ministry of reconciliation. We take that to mean that God is reconciling the world unto himself and and he has called us to be his ambassadors. This ministry is grounded in 2nd Corinthians 5:17-21 and is expressed in three ways at CTK.

Three ways of expressing Faith-Based Reconciliation

(Corinthians 5:17-21)

1. We firmly believe that God is reconciling the world unto Himself. “The old has passed away behold the new has come. All this is from God who through Christ reconciled us to Himself … “ (17-18). “… in Christ God was reconciling the world to Himself (19). We see ourselves as partners with God in this endeavor.

2. We have the ministry of reconciliation. “All this is from God who through Christ reconciled us to Himself and gave us the ministry for reconciliation (18) … and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation” (19). This vision resulted in a Faith Based Reconciliation Process which brings faith values to resolution of conflicts.

3. “Therefore we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God” (20). Our call to share the good news of the gospel to all who will listen is grounded in the knowledge that God is reconciling the world to Himself and we are thrilled to be partners with God in His work in our world. All that we do, from evangelism to service to hospitality to worship, is as “Ambassadors for Christ” that all may be reconciled to God.
